Multisensory Days

YAMSEN:SpeciallyMusic invite you to our multisensory and music days celebrating the classic story of Hansel and Gretel. These events will be a music and general arts experience with activities designed for children with additional needs.

These 4 days will take the form of
two Multi-sensory days, designed specifically for pupils with CMLN, and two Music days for children with additional needs including those with learning difficulties, sensory impairment, and/or children who are on the autistic spectrum.
  • Multisensory days are Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 May.
  • Music days are Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25.
  • All days are 10:30am-2:00pm at Pudsey Civic Hall, LS28 5TA
  • All events are 8 per child for members and 10 per child for non-members
The mutlisensory days are an escape into a vibrant environment full of new things to do, move to, see, hear, touch and smell.  The music days are a mixture of hands-on activities.  We pride ourselves on providing accessible activities and live music throughout the day.

The theme for both events is the classic story of Hansel and Gretel.  Come explore the deep dark woods, discover the house made of sweets and help us trick the evil witch.  Feel free to come dressed up too.

Comments from our clients:

'I feel that you tailor the day to meet the needs of students with complex learning difficulties: Live music is often very motivating for people with complex needs and the musicians come close enough for students to respond to and even touch the instruments.'

'The pace is extremely appropriate allowing students time to react and respond before moving on to the next. There is a good selection of visual, auditory and olfactory stimuli - all offered in an appropriate format which students can handle, and no one is worried if someone throws it as often happens!'

'The volunteers are very patient, talk to our students appropriately and know how to allow enough time for them to respond in their own ways. It is one of the best days on our calendar and we really look forward to going! - I just wish it could be more frequently.'
